You Could Put the Blame on Me

The somewhat big day finally came. I have to absent from my History class for the sake of the Inter-Collegiate Quiz Bowl. There were four of us who represented our college, one from each year level. Don't have to elaborate, but nawalan ako ng gana during my lunch. Hindi ko alam kung epekto pa rin 'yun sa pagkatalo namin o talagang feeling busog lang talaga ako during those times.

Well, on the first half of the duration of the contest, we were so noisy. We were so confident kahit na marami sa mga sagot namin puro products of tsamba. Pumangalawa kami sa easy round at nanguna sa moderate round. Pero pagdating sa difficult round, para kaming sinampal ng dough sa mukha. Automatic shut down ang mga bunganga namin. It really gave us headaches. Natameme kami pre. Daming solving, Math related problems (na super ayaw ko sa isang quiz bowl) which was an all-time fave naman ng College of Engineering and Architecture group (sila pala nanalo, congratulations!) But what affected me most was the 10th and last question sa difficult round.

"Paralympics 2008 was held where?"

One of us gave Beijing for an answer. Nag-insert pa 'ko, nagpa-effect. (I so much regretted that moment) Sabi ko naman Greece. Ewan ko lang kung saan ko napulot ang sagot na 'yan. So while the clock was ticking, we were torn between two places. Is it Beijing or Greece? Last minute decision -- Greece. Saktong pagbigay sa papel, the moderator said, "The correct answer is Beijing."

Hawak-hawak ko ang papel na may sulat Beijing. Gusto kong mag-breakdown at i-untog ang ulo ko sa tiled floor. Kung di lang sana ako nag-insert. grrrrr....Second sana kami of the eight contestants from different colleges and external campuses. But because of that one wrong paper na nabigay, we landed on the fourth spot (na may ka tie pa).

Ewan ko lang kung ilang instances pa gaya nito ang aking pagdadaanan. I just can't get over it, especially upon thinking that we lost because of me.
