The Spectrum Fellowship 2012 (A Bliss)

For many days, I have been away, and was not able to fill this blank page with sensibilities. Well, I was literally away, went to Talisay City to be exact. The news might be late, but I know it would be worth posting for the photos have finally been uploaded. Thanks to Kenneth

What Did We Do There?

Inside the bus to Talisay City...
Joey: Kuya, naa kay plastic?
Ryan: Naa.
Joey: Tag-pila mana kuya?
Ryan: Tag singkwinta. *lelz

See for yourself :)
We went there to attend a three-day seminar on Campus Journalism and to hope of winning an award for our school publication. It was my second time to attend The Spectrum Fellowship, first of which was last year, wherein our school won the Best News Story, Best Editorial Cartoon, and Best Editorial awards.

After a tiring seven-hour land trip to the neighboring province, Negros Occidental, we safely arrived at the Nature's Village Resort in Talisay City. We arrived late, but it was fine. The accommodation was great anyhow.
the venue, as cold as ice -_-
blurry, but I was absolutely listening huh!
hanapin n'yo ko ^^
I missed a lot of the Fellowship, though. I could have met Butch Dalisay for the Literary Writing lecture but I have to go home to attend another important seminar. -_- I just spent an overnight there and went home. *deep sigh

The Best Part

"Kung gusto mo'ng makipagkilala sa isang babae, ano ang una mo'ng sasabihin?" Answering his own question, he said, "Miss, you look anxious. You wanna talk 'bout it?" The room was suddenly filled with boisterous laughs.

Before I could find myself running around the bush, let me tell you the best part of that seminar. Hmmph! Are you familiar with BOB ONG? Like yes! BOB ONG. The real man. I saw him in person, and I never thought that day would come.

At first, only rumors of him being the real Bob Ong just filled the atmosphere. I was 30% sure that time that he indeed was the authentic icon. With his humorous punchlines and oh so natural way of injecting humor to his statements, who would not think that he is not Bob? From the beginning of his lecture 'til the end of the open forum, he kept on denying that he was Bob Ong. I believed him. What is, rumors!

However, the moment of truth finally came. With the confession of one of the organizers while we were engrossed in a conversation that night, he admitted to me that he was really Bob Ong. Then, I just froze, maybe for a while. I grinned my widest grin and patted him at the back. "Thanks. S'ya pala talaga si Bob Ong?"

He nodded. I was just absolutely right for asking him to spare me his attention. Pang camera lang po. Before I could agree with the rest of the mob that he was indeed Bob Ong, I already had suspicions of his identity. These were the first words that flashed on the white screen the moment he invaded the stage:

HINDI AKO SI BOB ONG?

"Aside from writing Nursing books, he also releases a variety of literary scripts, and books under a pseudonym." This was written under his description on the itinerary of the Spectrum.

And I asked him this during the open forum,"Sino po ba mas magaling? Ikaw o si Bob Ong?"

He answered, "Syempre ako." *laughs

there he was...
BOB ONG. Gosh!
I am just so sorry but he wants his identity concealed. Otherwise, his Bob Ong pseudonym won't do any good any more. That's why I blurred his image. hehe. Sorry. :)

Our Sweet Haven

"Your home away from home. Have a happy stay mams, sirs." And he closed the door behind him.

This should be featured because undeniably, the resort was so nice. The ambient features of Nature's Village Resort was mind-relaxing and soothing. Di na 'ko magpapaligoy pa. Eto na talaga.

char lang ^^

the mini bar :)
Sadly, Picnik is closing this coming April 19,2012, my number one site for editing photos, (di kasi ako marunong mag Adobe Photoshop) so I spent time editing these photos, auto-fixed and cross-processed each. I will surely miss Picnik. huhuh :'(

But on the other hand, the Seminar ended with a bliss. Major euphoria. ^^ More stories to tell on my next post. Adios!

A Long Queue of Orange Peels

Isang malaking TGIF, first and foremost because this week which has been dreaded by all college students is finally over. The Midterms Week! 'Di pa man ako tapos sa lahat ng exams ko, at least my brain can rest for three to four days before another lengthy major examinations.

WARNING: PHOTO BULK AHEAD. BANG! (wala ako masabi eh -_-)

epal na orange tsinelas.

Nakakakakakakakakakakapuyat man ang mag-aral hanggang 1:00 a.m. at magpantasya kay Coco Martin habang natutulog sa mesa dahil sa lamig (lelz), okay lang. Natapos na ang January 16 to 20. I will have less worries in the coming days. I will have more sleep tomorrow, and I will have more kulitan moments with my siblings. Praise God for the wisdom He gave. Praise God for the enlightenment. Praise God for the good scores. Praise God. ^^

*****

Hindi nakokompleto ang araw ko without kulitan moments with my kapatids. Ayan, Taglish na si ate. haha. If my eyes begin to fail me for the night and my hands and fingers grow tired writing questionnaires, I dive into my bed, tickle my siblings and tell them to pose for the cam.

Goodbye long exams. Hello to a movie marathon weekend. Hello to a Monday Holiday. tootles and Godspeed!

The Year's First Friday the 13th (Malas Daw?)

I don't really believe in the "kamalasan" of Friday the 13th. But this day keeps on dragging me to a series of unfortunate events.

Right after I breakfasted, dirty dishes were my next big thing. Since my first class starts one hour before noon, I was confident that I could still make it early to school. I tarried, and enjoyed the bubbles on the sink. The next thing I did was remove the strainer basket for the morsels to drain faster. I did not notice that a spoon slipped  off my grip and it came tinkling down the pipe. Good heavens! Nanay and tatay mustn't know, or else I'm dead. I didn't know how many minutes I stood in that sink, trying to pull that silver thing below. 'Din rin naman ako pinagpawisan dahil nga wala akong ma produce na pawis. Anyway, after several attempts, I finally got it through the help of our wooden ladle. Success! I quickly returned the strainer basket in the fear that I'd do it again, and finished the dishes with a sigh of relief.

I took a bath, prepared myself for school, discovered that my cold was worsening, brushed my teeth, said goodbye to my little brother, and waited for a vehicle to pass by. But unlike other days, it took me almost 30 minutes of waiting along the highway before a turtle-paced jeepney came. Napilitan akong sumakay because of the thought that a bus won't surface for the next 30 minutes. Ending? 'Di ako nakapasok sa one and only class ko for the morning dahil late na naman ako. Ang saya! :'(

What's going to happen next? I don't know. What I know is that these all are not products of the so-called "kamalasan of Friday the 13th." These are all products of a clumsy me. Happy Friday the 13th. *big smile*

Paboritong Prito

"Ikaw juy paboritong tripingan ug mga gulang nga pasahero ug dispatcher sa v-hire sah?"
(Ikaw talaga ang paboritong tripan ng mga matatanda't dispatcher sa v-hire 'noh?)

With a surprised countenance, Israelli (a close friend) laughed at my story and gave the aforementioned statement.

Here's the fetch. Just this morning, while I was riding on a V-hire to school (dahil naiwanan na naman ng bus), I've noticed that the dispatcher/conductor was looking at me from time to time.

I nodded.

More questions came, and I don't have to enumerate. Feel ko sa mga oras na 'yon, parang bumagal ang takbo ng sinasakyan ko, although the driver was able to overtake the bus na nang-iwan sa 'kin. The last hirit ng mama was this.

"Ga-ulian ka kay ganahan ka makakita sa imung uyab didto sa inyo sah?" (Araw-araw kang umuuwi sa inyo dahil gusto mo'ng makita lagi jowa mo noh?)

Sarcastic na ang pagkatingin ko sa kanya. Sana naman di na offend 'yong tao. I gave my most sincere answer.

"Wala ko'y uyab uy." (Wala akong bf.)

Di makapaniwala si mama. Humirit na naman. "Kana rabang musulti nga walay uyab, mao nay naay uyab. Hala!"

Hay! Echoserong palaka. I'll tell them the truth, di maniniwala. Mga ewan. Kung dispatcher naman, same thing.

Wala bang mas bata d'yan? 'Yong ka age ko naman, pwede? haha.

Better Late than Never, Diba?

I had second thoughts on publishing our Christmas Party pictures last year with my school publication family but though not timely, I think I can still catch your attention with our polka-dots inspired attires. haha. O ayan nah! Better late than never nga diba? hehe.

(the following are just snippets of the whole enjoyment. marami pa 'yan somewhere out there! ^^)

Pasensya na talaga sa quality ng pictures. I had a hard time editing the height and the width of these images at parang ayaw ko na talagang mag-edit further. haha. Just click on each one for a better quality. Salamat po! Thank you in English. ^^
